I'm in New Zealand and enrolled in Caitlin's All About Andamento Level 1 and 2 online classes last year.
I was so happy that these were offered via Zoom as I wouldn't have been able to attend otherwise..
The classes are fantastic and being in a different country is no barrier at all. Caitlin has a wonderful studio setup; you can see everything she demonstrates clearly and this is backed up with emailed .PDFs with examples. If you are contemplating enrolling just do it, you won't be disappointed. Sharon Pine NZ.
'Caitlin's online mentoring classes are so good for the soul. Receiving instruction and feedback from Caitlin, who pushes her students to extend themselves, is invaluable. These classes give students the opportunity to connect with other mosaic artists while providing and receiving constructive feedback. I was able to work on my project while listening to others discuss their work with the group, which was a lovely way to gain insight into what inspires others in the group and to watch their mosaic practice grow. I came away from each session feeling inspired by and connected to a wonderful mosaic community.'

"I found Caitlin's on-line classes to be very inspiring as the content of each class was well structured, informative and by guiding us through step by step with her light hearted approach encouraged me to give each activity a go and with some good results along the way."

I highly recommend Hughes Studio for art tuition at all levels and ages. My professional interest being mosaic, I have found Caitlin to be one of the finest and most dedicated teachers in the country, providing strong foundations to the highest level. Her generosity as a teacher is limitless and care and compassion is evident in all her classes. Providing students with a wide range of perspectives is a special feature of her visiting artist program. Rachel Bremner, Tasmania
'Caitlin's Andamento classes were so valuable in taking my mosaic practice to the next level. Caitlin's knowledge of mosaics is extensive, and being taught about the history of mosaics alongside examples of the various opus we were working on each week was inspirational. Drawing is not easy for me, but Caitlin guided us step by step through exercises which have given me a set of skills I can now use for future mosaic projects. I enjoyed creating samples each week that I am able to refer to when I am working on projects. Although I enjoy face to face learning, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed online classes. I was able to get more work completed online because students learn techniques together as a group, and we are able to watch Caitlin draw, cut and place materials as we work "alongside" her. I also enjoy being able to connect with students who I would not normally have the chance to interact with due to distance.'

A perfect place to immerse yourself and/or your children into the amazing world of creativity and art and to connect with the like minded people. The studio offers a great variety of courses and workshops run by local and international artists always in a very inspiring and encouraging way.

'I am fortunate to be a member of the intermediate mosaic group at Hughes Studio. Caitlin is an excellent teacher who has the ability to present ideas in a variety of ways. In addition to this Caitlin has a warm and friendly personality and the classes are very stimulating and enjoyable. This is essential for the learning process. Caitlin presents and develops a different them each term. She pushes me out of my comfort zone and pushes me further into the art of mosaics. Hughes Studio is a real asset to the creative world.' Galia Menin, Leura.
'The adults mosaic classes are fantastic. There is always something new to learn and the classes have a happy and relaxed vibe which produces great results. I am very glad that I found Hughes Studio, and would highly recommend it to others.' Cindy Topic
"It’s really helpful for learning different techniques and it’s really fun. It’s also really engaging and I look forward to going every week." Bianca Tovia, age 12
I started the Mosaic course with Caitlin last term and have booked myself for another term. I love this course because it gives me enough freedom to express my creativity and style and at the same time it gives me enough theory and technique. Therefore I feel I am learning & progressing while making beautiful artwork and enjoying myself. Caitlin is a fantastic teacher and a beautiful human being. She is always great advice to help you improve your work. She is also a good motivator and heaps of fun to be with. The group is really lovely and quiet small so we are having lovely discussion, encouraging and helping each other while making our mosaics. I really recommend that course.

Johan has been a student of Caitlin 's since the age of 7 (he is now almost 13). He has learnt so much in both general art and mosaic classes and he loves attending. He likes Caitlin's style of teaching because she is very encouraging when it comes to him developing his own style. Caitlin gently guides him and explains technicalities to help him learn and achieve his goals.

The Rachel Bremner workshop was very well organised! Teaching, materials and catering were fantastic and the historic venue is lovely. Xanthe Wells
'My daughter absolutely loves the Picasso Kids art class, she never wants to miss a class and has brought home some amazing art. It has brought out her creative side much more than she ever would have simply doing art at school.' Cindy
'The total experience of the Rachel Bremner Workshop was wonderful. Great presenters, lovely atmosphere and setting, good camaraderie and wonderful food. What more could you ask for. Many thanks Caitlin and Rachel.' Lyn Farrell
'Thank you so much for all your care, great knowledge and skill in teaching mosaics. You have a wonderful gift of working with people.' Sue
Hughes Studio is not just a venue, but a place where Caitlin shares and mentors her students passionately about everything she knows in the arts. Caitlin's teaching experience allows her to tailor her lessons for the specific student levels so that they achieve the most out of their creativity. But most of all her classes allow her students to grow beyond what they might've thought their capabilities originally were! Vicky Bush
