In this term time class children work within a traditional Mosaic Studio surrounded by inspiring Mosaics and Visual Examples.
They will take a small step into the world of mosaic, a visual language that has been in use for thousands of years. They will build their mosaic with beautiful coloured glass gems and tiles to create a Mosaic for garden display. In this level students cut their own glass tiles and learn to handle tools and materials safely. They begin to learn about mosaic traditions and apply this knowledge to their work. Classes are held fortnightly with 5 sessions over the term. Class numbers are capped at 10 students, with one teacher and one assistant to support children to engage safely in all aspects of the task. All tools, materials and safety equipment are supplied. |
