In this term time class children work within a traditional Mosaic Studio surrounded by inspiring Mosaics and Visual Examples.
They will take a small step into the world of mosaic a visual language that has been in use for thousands of years. They will build their mosaic with beautiful coloured glass gems and tiles to create a patterned Cupcake Mosaic for indoor display.
Classes are held fortnightly with 5 sessions over the term (total of 5 hours).
Class numbers are kept to 8 students to support children to engage safely in all aspects of the task.
All tools, materials and safety equipment are supplied.
Optional: Students can choose to learn how to use mosaic nippers to cut glass tiles, or tutors can undertake any necessary cutting for them.
