Andamento Boot Camp with Caitlin Hepworth
Date: Saturday 15th April 2023 Time: 10am - 4pm Fee: $165.00 Level: Intermediate - Suitable for those who have been working in mosaic for a while and would like to take their work to a new level. Venue: Hepworth Studios at the Woodford Academy BYO lunch and mug. Fridge and microwave available. Tea & coffee and a delicious morning tea is supplied. Workshop Description: In this one day workshop students will take an intensive dive into andamento in an abridged version of Caitlin's Andamento Level 1 & 2 Courses.
Student will learn a structured method to plan and execute andamento drawing which can then be applied to making exercises in your own studios. There is no mosaic making included in this workshop. At the beginning of the day students will move through the basics of Andamento Level 1 and the math of curves in mosaic. The majority of the day will focus on Andamento Level 2: Dyamic Andamento, which includes Sdoppiamento, flaring, scaling, spiraling and creating volume in andamento drawing. The workshop caters for students with differing levels of experience and appropriate exercises can be provided depending on your level. PLEASE BRING: - A4 Tracing paper pad - HB pencil and sharpener - Eraser and ruler - Thin Sharpie or permanent marker. Students will be asked to send 2 photos of their recent mosaic work to Caitlin prior to the workshop so she can see your level and to enable adequate preparation of differentiated tasks. |

About Caitlin Hepworth:
Caitlin Hepworth is a sculptural mosaic artist and founder of Hepworth Studios. Caitlin facilitates both in person and online learning opportunities for students of visual art and mosaic. Caitlin trained in visual arts, majoring in sculpture at the National Art School Sydney graduating in 2000 and then completed a Master of Teaching in Visual Arts Education at the University of Sydney. Caitlin has taught extensively since 2001 at schools, galleries and studios throughout NSW and is a sort after tutor of mosaic both nationally and internationally. Caitlin is a leader in mosaic education in Australia and strives to increase the understanding and representation of mosaic art in creative communities. This starts with comprehensive education that develops skills and knowledge about mosaics in historical, contemporary and community contexts. We manage workshop numbers to ensure a quality experience for all students. This means that last minute cancellations have a serious impact on the viability of workshops for all students. In addition to workshop fees, some students are paying for flights an accommodation to attend.
In the case of guest tutors, their willingness to work with our studio depends greatly on the viability of their classes.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds for this one day workshop.
- If you cancel prior to 14 days before with workshop you will receive a 100% credit the less a $20 admin fee.
- If you cancel between 7-14 days before the workshop you will receive a credit of 50% credit less a $20 admin fee.
- If you cancel within 7 days of the workshop no credit will apply.
- Credits are valid for 12 months.
In the event that a workshop is cancelled due to Covid 19 restrictions, tutor illness, or an extreme weather event, a full refund will be provided.
